Douglas P. Clark, Chairman & CEO

Douglas P. Clark is a graduate of the University of South Carolina, with degrees in History and Accounting.  Upon graduation he went to work with Price Waterhouse in New York City.  He is a Certified Public Accountant with extensive experience in international business and the mortgage industry. 

Prior to joining Homeowners, Mr. Clark was in resort real estate development and was Chief Financial Officer for a company that specialized in resort real estate sales and development.  In addition to his financial duties, he assisted in acquisitions of large resort developments.

 

Currently as Chairman & CEO, Mr. Clark is responsible for the secondary marketing function of the Company.  Mr. Clark is Managing Director of HBC Mortgage, and affiliated company with Homeowners. Mr. Clark is on the Fannie Mae Customer Advisory Board and he is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, South Carolina Association of CPA’s and the National Mortgage Bankers Association.

 

Doug is married to Bridget M. Clark, founder of Homeowners Mortgage Enterprises, Inc. and they have one child.  They live in Blythewood, South Carolina a small bedroom community Northeast of Columbia.

Robert Dozier, Jr., President

Robert Dozier, Jr has been in the real estate industry for over 13 years – as a licensed real estate agent, appraiser and for the last 10 years, as a mortgage lender. Robert is currently president of Homeowners Mortgage in Columbia, SC. Homeowners mortgage enjoys a mortgage retail presence in Columbia, Charleston and Charlotte; a wholesale division for conforming and non-conforming loans and a credit union division that provides mortgage services for credit unions throughout the southeast.

 

In addition to his present position, Robert was one of 4 national trainers for Fannie Mae as part of the Housing Finance Institute in Washington DC from 1997 until 2003. In that role he taught mortgage professionals around the country in the “art” of selling and underwriting Fannie Mae mortgage products.

 

Robert has served on numerous boards and commissions. Robert was elected at age 20 to the Richland School District II Board of Trustees where he served four-year term, two of those as chairman. At the time, Robert was the youngest school board chairman in the country. He is currently serving, at the appointment of the Governor, on the Midlands Technical College Board of Trustees. He serves on the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education Foundation. In addition, Robert was appointed to the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta on March 6, 2002 for a three year term.

 

Robert holds a BA degree from the University of South Carolina. Robert and his wife Beverly have three children and reside in Columbia.

Bridget M Clark, Secretary/Treasurer

Bridget M. Clark’s extensive real estate career began as a paralegal in the New England area.  She later moved to Southern California and worked for a large real estate Law Firm and eventually relocated to Columbia, South Carolina.  At the age of 24, Mrs. Clark, founded Homeowners Mortgage Enterprises, Inc. in 1983.

 

The real estate experience allowed Mrs. Clark to build from a solid foundation a company that filled a void in Columbia’s mortgage market. Running all facets of the company, Mrs. Clark focused on the key factor that remains true to this day – customer service.

 

Homeowners Mortgage originally focused on government residential lending but quickly developed into a full service mortgage banking firm. Today, Mrs. Clark remains the majority shareholder of the company and oversees the investor reconciliation section of the business. In addition, Mrs. Clark is active in the national MBA.

 

Mrs. Clark is married to Douglas P. Clark (Chairman& CEO) and they have one child.
